This is Author Tony Medina's latest continuation on the isolated, but not so isolated experiences of being homeless, lived by none other than Broke, the Author's Protagonist.
The Poetry here follows it's predecessor, Broke On Ice and as before, I continue to embrace humor, sadness, upliftment and heartbreak thru the Eyes and Words of Broke; Broke Baroque consists of beautifully witted Poetry, inhaled, exhaled and voiced all at the same time on homelessness, capitalism, poverty and the very bruised blues of life being choked out of you.
You laugh with Broke, not at Him...You are sad about Broke's situation, yet not for Him, because Broke doesnt feel sorry for himself. Vivid descriptions of a very unfortunate life out of the mouth of Broke, reveals an even more vivid description of a past life, past ideas, prosperity past...Something or Someone in his life were lost. The more i read, the more i become interested in Him and what existed of his life before now.
Perhaps Broke is the spirit of poverty itself, warning us, teaching us, demanding us to be moved with compassion and to not judge while we truly do relish in a freedom that we take for granted, realizing that life isnt as f***** up as it seems within our own personal lives...Yeah, it's deep like that. Broke Ain't No Joke-

Here's an honest review from a not - so - expert literary critic the poetry is funny, sarcastic, bold and real. I loved it! I've read several of the Broke poetry books. Medina brings the character Broke to unrelenting, unapologetic, hilarious and straight-up life. You'll appreciate it if u like sarcastic or dry humor and matter-of-fact commentary on subjects most people wouldn't dare to breach
